This dual-band embedded antenna, ALX18P-221AA4-00, is a dipole antenna with high efficiency and quick integration for 2.4/5GHz dual band, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Designed in a PCB, it has a high peak gain of 7.7dBi at 2.4GHz and 8.0dBi at 5GHz with easy installation through a MMCX R/A plug connector and 65mm RF-1.37 cable connection.

 

A greater range of devices are supported with a dual-band router because it has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks available to connect to. You can separate your network traffic somewhat between devices using each frequency. This can help prevent one network from being overused by too many devices and slowing down, a common problem with many popular consumer Wi-Fi routers.
