This embedded antenna, ALA110-092030, is a PIFA antenna with high efficiency and quick integration for 5GHz frequency band, working on Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 standard applications. It has a peak gain of 2.0dBi at 5GHz, designed in a metal with small size 16 x 8.3 x 1.85 mm.
A PIFA antenna is compact and small in size comparing to a monopole antenna. Bandwidth of the PIFA antennas can be adjusted by varying the size of GND plane. For a given frequency, a PIFA has a length about one-quarter wavelength and is roughly half the size of a dipole.
