This PIFA antenna, ALX17M-052XX2-01, is an embedded antenna with high efficiency and quick integration for 2.4GHz frequency band, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It has a peak gain of 3.07dBi at 2.4GHz, designed in a metal with IPEX connector and RF-1.37 low loss cable, which is used to keep efficiency high over long cable lengths.
Bluetooth is designed to use lower power transmission for communication over shorter distances between devices that are in close proximity, while Wi-Fi has the design goal of having to possibly reach further away to maintain connection to its access points.
