SPECIFICATION

Cable Assemblies

A coaxial RF connector (radio frequency connector) is an electrical connector designed to work at radio frequencies in the multi-megahertz range. RF connectors are typically used with coaxial cables and are designed to maintain the shielding that the coaxial design offers.

Coaxial cable (also called coax) is to provide efficient transmission of radio frequency signals, in applications such as connecting radio transmitters and receivers with their antennas, computer network (Internet) connections, and distributing cable television signals. One advantage of coax is that in an ideal coaxial cable the electromagnetic field carrying the signal exists only in the space between the inner and outer conductors. This allows coaxial cable runs to be installed next to metal objects such as gutters without the power losses that occur in other transmission lines, and provides protection of the signal from external electromagnetic interference.

Our coaxial cables include: 0.81 mm, 1.13 mm, 1.32 mm, 1.37 mm, 1.78 mm, low loss cables, …etc. 1.13 mm is the most popular thin and flexible RF coaxial cable, and the only coax that can be used with MHF4 cables. 1.37 mm is the best choice for low loss, having similar signal loss as 1.48 mm, RG174 and RG178, but is thinner and more flexible.

Connector Assemblies

  • The N Type connector (also called Type N or N) is a threaded, weatherproof, medium-size coaxial RF connector. It was one of the first connectors capable of carrying microwave-frequency signals, and can operate up to 18 GHz.
  • The MMCX connector (Micro-Miniature Coaxial Connector) is a coaxial RF connector similar to MCX but smaller. It has a lock-snap mechanism allowing 360-degree rotation and usually has a 50 Ω impedance, offering broadband capability from DC to 6 GHz.
  • F Type connectors (also called Type F or F) are coaxial RF connectors commonly used for applications like cable TV, satellite TV and cable modems. They are inexpensive, gendered, threaded, compression connectors for radio frequency signals, and also not weatherproof.
  • I-PEX, a Dai-ichi Seiko company in Japan, has designed and manufactured small form factor precision connectors used for markets and applications like electronics, robotics, security, medical, …etc. They develop Micro Coaxial Connectors, FPC/FFC connectors, Board-to-board connectors, other RF connectors and switches for various applications up to 45 GHz.
  • SMA connectors (SubMiniature version A) are semi-precision coaxial RF connectors that operate up to 18 GHz, used in a wide range of applications, including antenna systems for commonly used at higher frequencies (5 GHz+).
  • Reverse-polarity SMA (RP-SMA or RSMA) reverses the gender of the interface. The female RP-SMA connector has the same external housing as a standard or conventional female SMA connector, which consists of an outer shell with the threads on the outside; however, the center receptacle is replaced by a male pin. Similarly, the RP-SMA male has threads on the inside like a conventional male, but has a center receptacle instead of the male pin in the middle. Normal SMA connectors are incompatible with RP-SMA connectors.
