LYNwave was awarded 2021 CITD by IDB, MOEA (Taiwan) for Development Project of Combining Thermal and Antenna Solutions
The demand for Wi-Fi 6 devices grows as COVID-19 affects our daily life. Due to the enhanced use of office and home Wi-Fi networks, faster data transfer speeds and longer battery life of devices matter more. The sixth generation of Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6, also known as 802.11ax (11ax), not only enhances data transfer speeds, but also provides lower network latency and higher network capacity. Wi-Fi 6E further extends into 6GHz, effectively causing less spectrum congestion.
In order to handle the increasing dependency on IoT applications with Wi-Fi 6, such as wireless communication antenna modules, products that can save production costs and time will be more advantageous.
Therefore, LYNwave started the project of combining antenna and thermal solutions, receiving the support from IDB, Ministry of Economic Affairs (Taiwan) with 2020-2021 CITD (Conventional Industry Technology Development).
This project is designed to reduce production costs and assembly processes effectively by integrating antenna and thermal solutions, and also achieve the heat dissipation performance close to that of traditional designs at the same time. With the space saving and cost reduction of the structure, the products of this project are more easily promoted and accepted, and can be expected to be highly competitive in the market.

CITD, Conventional Industry Technology Development, is a program of Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs (IDB, MOEA) that provides subsidies for research and development in traditional industries to encourage independent research and development, in order to strengthen the innovative R&D capabilities of traditional industries, accelerate the upgrading and enhance the competitiveness.
