This LYNwave MLX21P-156AA5-A is a 4×4 full band outdoor MIMO patch Sub-6 5G LTE antenna with SMA Jack (x4) as its connectors, delivering powerful performance for wide band LTE 2G 3G 4G 5G Sub 6GHz at 617-960MHz / 1450-2690MHz / 3300-4200MHz. This wide band 5G NR antenna can be used in broadcasting, telemetry, meteorological, aeronautical, …etc.

There are two kinds of 5G networks: mmWave and sub-6GHz. Sub-6GHz 5G refers to mid and low frequency bands under 6GHz, which is faster than 4G and has a longer range and can better penetrate objects comparing to mmWave. While the mmWave has great speeds, it also has a limited range which makes users to be near and within the area of a mmWave 5G tower. Therefore, though the sub-6GHz, which has a lower frequency range, is limited in terms of speed, can offer a longer range which makes it more suitable for real-world implementation. It uses the older 4G-like frequencies which results in better coverage.

This Sub-6 5G LTE antenna can be applied in 5G CPE. 5G CPE is a CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) that supports 5G FWA. It uses the high-frequency and wireless transmission characteristics of 5G to expand the support range of broadband networks. It is aimed at making more users’ devices (e.g. mobile phones or PC) connected to the Internet through receiving the 5G signals issued from the 5G base station and then transferring them into Wi-Fi signals or wired signals. FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) can provide broadband connection services in the form of fixed network, which belongs to fixed broadband relative to mobile broadband. Apart from FWA using fixed devices, it can also be applied to MiFi (Wireless Modem Terminal, portable mobile hotspots).

5G CPE can be thought as a small base station or a combination of router and mobile Wi-Fi. It is easy to carry on and users can access the Internet anytime and anywhere. Some people might think that 5G CPE is similar to mobile Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi router, however, they are actually different.

5G CPE is a combination of the 5G modem and Wi-Fi router, and can access the Internet by inserting a 5G SIM card and connecting to the Wi-Fi or LAN port of the CPE. On the other hand, Wi-Fi router is a Wi-Fi signal projector that connects to a router, modem or switch via cables. Then, smart devices can receive the Wi-Fi signals and access the Internet. If there’s no cabling, Wi-Fi routers can’t provide the network. As for mobile Wi-Fi, 5G CPE can be regarded as an improved version of mobile Wi-Fi with a stronger antenna gain. The ability of 5G CPE to receive and transmit signals is also stronger than that of mobile phones, which makes 5G CPE used for testing of outdoor 5G applications.
