What does a multi-probe OTA/Passive Satimo testing chamber system use for?

A quick introduction of LYNwave’s antenna testing chambers.

If you are curious what this is on the cover, its name is StarLab, a time-effective and high-accuracy multi-probe OTA/Passive Satimo testing chamber system for 3D/2D antenna passive parameters measurement and OTA (CTIA) TRP/TIS/MIMO measurement designed by MVG.

Unlike the conventional single-probe mechanical scanning, this OTA/Passive antenna anechoic chamber system is developed based on the patented SATIMO multi-probe technology, using an array of 15 scanning probes spaced every 22.5° in an arch round the DUT (device under test) placed on a turntable.
Its ring of probes scans the field around the DUT, providing images and plot of the electro-magnetic wave propagation around the device.

The turntable is rotated 180° around the Z-axis and the probes array can rotate over ± 11.25° in elevation (Y-axis), such that it positions the probes in offset locations.
This oversampling capability is integrated in the mechanical architecture of the system itself, meaning no need for an extra goniometer.

In this way, it only needs to make the measured object do a 180° azimuth mechanical rotation to perform a complete spherical face test.

Over the air chamber system

Combined with the electronic scanning of the probes, the mechanical elevation scanning allows high-speed and fully automated measurements. It can measure 11 frequencies in approximately 1 minute, getting near-field measurement results and post processing analysis in record time.

This means that it contributes faster and more accurate test results with better load capacity (up to 10 kgs) than conventional single-probe chamber systems.

And, exceptional testing speed with accurate testing result means greater customer service.

With the OTA/Passive SATIMO Chamber System, LYNwave could provide clients not only antenna test reports with more accurate parameters rapidly, but also OTA (Over the Air) testing service for active testing.
With LYNwave’s help on active test, we could provide our suggestions to clients in advance, offering cost-saving/time-saving solutions comprehensively.
